Assuming you are a NetSuite administrator, you can have a look at the customization tab and navigate to scripts. In that page you will see all the record types that you have and next to that you will see how many scripts and workflows are associated with those records. Look for those that have the most scripts and workflows – this will be a great place to start.

The Suite Cloud Performance monitor will also show you data that can guide you in the right direction of what needs to be improved.

It’s common that companies gradually develop their NetSuite processes, but if done without considering the system as a whole it can lead to a very complicated scripted environment. Some scripts may be overlapping, or they may be conflicting in some way generating problems. Having fewer scripts will decrease the load on the server and improve the load time of those records. Evaluate if all actions in the scripts and workflows are necessary and try to combine the remaining ones.

When you have a lot of users on the same NetSuite at the same time, it will slow down the performance for all users. You don’t necessarily have to decrease the amount of users, but it might be worthwhile to consider moving heavy processes such as large data imports or running large scripts to non-peak hours of work.

NetSuite logs all actions, meaning that you can find out which processes take the most time for your user to complete manually. This data can be exported and analyzed using process mining tools.

With the data exported to a warehouse and connected to PowerBI, we can conduct process mining and visualize the processes. We can then identify outliers and slow processes that need to be improved.

Based on the process mining findings, we can identify areas that need improvement. The improvement work is then conducted in your NetSuite in cooperation with you.
